The Lipscomb University community celebrated the grand opening of the renovated Bennett Campus Center on Tuesday, Sept. 4 with a variety of activities planned to highlight the new features of the facility.

Students, faculty and staff gathered for the ceremonial ribbon cutting that officially opened the re-engineered space, which includes a renovated university bookstore facility that moved from the main floor to the lower level, the addition of Zebi, a soup, sandwich and salad shop that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, which offers a variety of hot pretzels and hot dogs; and on the main level in the site of the old bookstore facility a new student lounge as well as study and eating areas.

The day’s activities included a pretzel-making competition with President L. Randolph Lowry, Jenny Stites, associate dean of campus life; and Jake Burton, campus minister and mentoring program director. In addition, guests enjoyed free samples from the new food vendors and were able to participate in karaoke competition among other events.
