The tour of Civil War sites begins on June 6 in Washington, D.C. and ends June 12. Stops on the tour include historical sites in Washington, D.C.; Antietam, Harpers Ferry and Gettysburg among other key Civil War sites in the area.

Johnson joined the Lipscomb faculty in 199. He has authored and edited six books and over twenty articles on the Mexican War and Civil War. Johnson received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from Lipscomb in 2001, and he has been featured on C-SPAN’s BookTv (1999), The History Channel (2003) and Public Television (2008).

The cost is $1,995 and includes roundtrip airfare, private charter motor coach, six nights hotel accommodations, hotel taxes and baggage handling, breakfast and dinner daily, prepaid gratuities, and select entrance/admission fees.

The tour of Scotland is set for July 3 -12. A highlight of the trip is Neal’s official portrait unveiling of Highland Scottish Clan Leader Sir Malcolm Colquhoun located on the beautiful Colquhoun Estate on the waters of Loch Lomond at the annual Luss Highland Scottish Games.

Neal, a Lipscomb graduate, has completed 500 commissioned portraits during his 20-year career. Among these are the paintings he recently completed of Governor Phil Bredesen for the Tennessee State Capitol and Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman for the Players Club in New York.
