Nashville health care executive Edgeworth selected as 2010 Young Alumnus of the Year

Mitch Edgeworth (’95), regional vice president at Quorum Health Resources (QHR) in Nashville, has been selected as the 2010 Young Alumnus of the Year.
 
Edgeworth, who oversees the operational performance and strategic direction of 13 QHR hospital clients in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona, will be honored at a brunch on Saturday, Dec. 18, as part of the December commencement festivities. He will also make comments at the 1 p.m. commencement ceremony in Allen Arena.
 
At QHR, Edgeworth works with his clients to drive long-term success through ongoing quality, financial and operational measurement and improvement. Prior to joining QHR, he spent seven years with Tenet Health System where he served for nearly five years as chief executive officer of Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake in Dallas.
 
Edgeworth graduated from Lipscomb in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering science. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he began his health care administration career at Duke University Health System.
 
Edgeworth received the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” award in 2009. He is also a
2007 graduate of Leadership Dallas. He has served on the board of directors of the Dallas
Arboretum, on the advisory board of the Dallas Coalition to Prevent Childhood Obesity and as a project advisory member to the National Patient Safety Foundation.
