An update from Lipscomb on the start of classes Wednesday

University Communication and Marketing |

snow pic 1Lipscomb thanks you for your patience as we have dealt with issues presented by a weather event that has affected much of the country. We were fortunate that, in Nashville, the expected snow accumulation did not materialize, however, the life-threatening, single-digit temperatures did and are predicted to continue through Tuesday. (In light of that particular issue, the university has back-up heating resources that have been tested and are in place should utilities in the area need to reduce service levels in light of the very high demand presently in play here.)

This is to let you know that students who have delayed their return to campus, as requested, can start returning. Please make your travel decisions wisely. As needed, faculty will work with out-of-area students who cannot make the start of classes Wednesday morning due to severe weather in their home areas.

As has been the case all along, all campus services are up and operating on normal schedules, so food, security, health and other student services are open and available. This afternoon's men's basketball game in Allen Arena will be played as scheduled at 5 p.m.

For graduate students who have evening classes, Monday night classes are still cancelled, however, for Tuesday evening classes, we are now observing our normal class disruption policy, that is, communicate directly with your instructor who will work with you to make a decision that works best for your particular class meeting. This includes classes meeting in all of Lipscomb’s off-campus locations.

Please note, undergraduate evening classes on Tuesday are not meeting.

We look forward to having the Bison Herd back on schedule in a few short hours on Wednesday morning!
