| Students in Free Enterprise team wins regional competition for third consecutive year
Kim Chaudoin 4/9/2012 The Lipscomb University Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) student organization won its division April 2 at the SIFE Atlanta regional competition. This is the third consecutive year the group has won its division at the regional competition. With this win, the team qualifies to compete in the national competition in Kansas City May 22-24. |

| National incident triggers conversation of significance on stereotyping
Scott McDowell 4/6/2012 The Trayvon Martin incident in which a young African-American man was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch member in Florida has surfaced racial tensions that sadly, never seem to be far from the surface in our nation. As a campus, Lipscomb seeks to engage in conversations of significance on many topics, and conversation surrounding racial reconciliation and stereotyping is high on that list. Our student body has one of the highest percentages of minority representation in Tennessee, we. We believe strongly in creating a student body that reflects global—and we believe—heavenly diversity. |

| Frist named Center for Entrepreneurship's 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year
Kim Chaudoin 4/5/2012 Nashville business leader Robert A. Frist Jr. received Lipscomb University’s Center for Entrepreneurship’s 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year Award April 5. Frist is co-founder, chief executive officer and president of HealthStream Inc. Over the last 21 years, Frist has introduced innovative learning and research solutions to the nation’s hospitals and health care organizations, positioning HealthStream as a leader in health care education and research. |

| The Avalon Trio named third in nation at NYC conference
Kim Chaudoin 4/5/2012 Lipscomb University’s Avalon Trio was named one of the top three chamber ensembles in the nation at a conference in New York City on March 24. The Avalon Trio placed third in the Music Teachers National Association’s chamber competition at the 2012 national conference. The Anansazi String Quartet from the University of Illinois and Trio Mundana from Central Washington University finished first and second in the competition. |

| Lipscomb observes Resurrection Week with the King[dom] Resurrected
Kim Chaudoin 3/30/2012 Lipscomb University will observing the week leading up to Easter with the King[dom] Resurrected, a series of contemplative activities and worship. Events begin on Palm Sunday, April 1 with a reading of the Triumphal entry and concert, then will conclude with a special Easter evening service on campus, April 8. Students, faculty, staff and the Lipscomb community are invited to participate. |

| Student-athletes find new playing field in spring break mission trips
Mark McGee 3/29/2012 Spring break is usually a time for college students to spend a few days having fun. For many students that means a trip to a beach to spend time in the sun and relax. But for a special group the break is a time for service as part of a mission trip. A large number of students spread out around the world to spread the Gospel of Christ. Among those students were several Lipscomb student-athletes. |

| Lipscomb Academy third graders win first place in Tennessee in Disney’s Planet Challenge
Kim Chaudoin 3/29/2012 The elementary school at Lipscomb Academy (formerly David Lipscomb Elementary School) third-graders have earned first-place honors in Tennessee as part of Disney’s Planet Challenge. Disney’s Planet Challenge (DPC) Elementary School program is a project-based environmentally-focused national competition for third- through fifth-grade students across the country. First-place winners in each state will receive $1,000 and individual student gifts from The Walt Disney Company. |

| David Lipscomb Campus School changes name to Lipscomb Academy June 1
Kim Chaudoin 3/10/2012 The Lipscomb University board of trustees announced today that David Lipscomb Campus School (DLCS) will become Lipscomb Academy effective June 1. The announcement was made at a gathering of more than 600 campus school faculty, administrators, parents and friends. The board approved the name change in a vote March 5. |
