Ingram Industries board chair to speak at Nashville Business Breakfast Oct. 17
John R. Ingram, chairman of the Ingram Industries board of directors and chairman and CEO of Ingram Content Group, will be the featured speaker at Lipscomb University’s Nashville Business Breakfast at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, in Allen Arena.
Ingram leads Ingram Content Group Inc., the world’s largest distributor of physical and digital content.He was named chair of the Ingram Industries board of directors in April 2008, having served as vice chairman of the board since 1999.
In 1986, Ingram joined Ingram Industries Inc., serving early in his career as assistant treasurer and as president of Tennessee Book Company, which became part of Ingram Content Group in 2009. He later served as president of Ingram Book Company, vice president of purchasing for Ingram Micro Europe and director of purchasing for Ingram Micro Inc., for which he has been a member of the board of directors since 1996.

A graduate of Princeton University, Ingram holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. He is an active volunteer in the Nashville community. He is chairman of the board of the Entrepreneur Center and currently serves on the boards of Montgomery Bell Academy and The Harpeth Hall School in Nashville. In addition, Ingram is chair of the Western Governors University Tennessee advisory board.
