March 30- Southern Literary Festival master class with Eric Powell

On Friday, March 30, graphic novelist Eric Powell will present a master class from 3- 3:45 pm as part of the Southern Literary Festival. This class is free and open to the public. Location: The Ezell Center, Swang Chapel.

Five time Eisner Award winner and creator of The Goon, Powell is an innovator in comics.  He has worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Incredible Hulk, Star Wars Tales, The Avengers, MAD Magazine and Action Comics as well as other leading comics titles.   He is currently working with acclaimed director David Fincher on developing a film adaptation of The Goon.

Powell’s artwork is also on display at the John C. Hutcheson Gallery as part of a show highlighting the art of comic books. The Hutcheson Gallery is located in the Hughes Center on the Lipscomb campus and is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Admission is free. For more information about the showing, click here.
