The Nashville Double Reed Ensemble, directed by Lipscomb’s Dr. Steve Rhodes, performs works written or arranged for this unusual instrumental combination of oboes, English horns, bassoons and contra-bassoons.

The ensemble performs throughout Nashville including venues at Middle Tennessee State University, the Nashville Public Library, the Bachanalia festival at Christ Church Cathedral and "Live in Studio C" at WPLN public radio.

Dewayne Pigg, professor of music at Middle Tennessee State University, is the groups’ artistic director. The ensemble performs original works from different style periods and genre arrangements and transcriptions by ensemble members, local arrangers, national and international composers and arrangers and student arrangers from the area.
