Patricia Roberts, Lyric Coloratura Soprano
Patricia Roberts earned her BM in music from Texas Christian University in 1988,
where she studied voice and was a Nordan Fine Arts Scholarship Recipient. She
received a MM from Baylor University in 1991, where her studies also included
vocal performance and opera. She studied with Dr. J. Arden Hopkins and Dr.
John Van Cura.
Patricia has taught at Belmont University since 1996 and Lipscomb University
since 1998 as an adjunct professor of voice. She continues to study voice with
Dr. Sharon Mabry at Austin Peay and is active in the music program at Forest
Hills Baptist Church. While Patricia has always enjoyed performing, she has
derived the most satisfaction from teaching over the past twelve years. Helping
students develop their talents and abilities while preparing for a career in music is what she finds most rewarding.
Patricia and her husband, Brent along with their sweet dog, Tule, reside in
Franklin.
