Each fall as the new school year begins, Lipscomb students find themselves thinking about where they would like to serve in the Nashville community. Some students come to engage the concept of local service through their course curriculum, others through their peers whom they live in community with on campus and yet some students are just looking for a way to allow God to use them as they assist those in need. On September 15th, Lipscomb Missions and the SALT Center co-partnered to host the 7th annual Local Service Fair. Forty-three local non-profit agencies visited campus to introduce their work to the Lipscomb community while recruiting student volunteers. The SALT Center hosted a breakfast where several faculty and staff connected with agency representatives in order to take their knowledge back to the classroom to share with their students. Afterwards, each agency set up a display table in the Bennett Campus Center and spent the day sharing their purpose with those students interested in learning more about their needs.
