Nevis

Nevis top

Nevis is an island in the Caribbean Sea, about 200 miles southeast of Puerto Rico. It is a short ferry ride from St. Kitts, and is close to Antigua, Saba, and St. Martin. The population is about 11,000, and the primary language is English. Nevis Peak, a volcano, is at the center of the island and is surrounded by rainforests and beautiful beaches. Fun fact - Nevis is the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.

This year's team will be developing a fun, creative service project that can impact the entire community. Each night, the team facilitates a Vacation Bible School at the church that includes games, crafts, and Bible study for both kids and adults. Four or five days will also be spent visiting nearby schools. The basis for their ministry in Nevis is building relationships, spending a lot of time bonding with the kids and adults in the community. The pace of the island is very laid back, so the schedule of the trip is based around this - allowing opportunities to hang out with the locals at the beach, the basketball court, and at their houses.
