Teachers in the the foreign language department provide a variety of learning experiences and employ different teaching methods as they prepare Lipscomb students to meet the challenges of multilingual demands in an increasingly international society. We make every effort to integrate the national standards for foreign language learning into our courses. These standards include communication in languages other than English, knowledge and understanding of other cultures, connections with other disciplines, insight into the nature of language and culture, and participation in multilingual communities at home and around the world. Lipscomb offers four years of foreign language study in French and Spanish, three years in Latin. An AP class is offered in Spanish, and a dual credit class is offered in French. The department includes six teachers who have a variety of talents and experiences. Each foreign language teacher has demonstrated a love for language and culture through travel and teaching. The foreign language clubs participate in a number of service projects throughout the school year, in addition to enjoying different cultural and educational activities outside of the classroom.
