Jackie Halstead, Associate Director with the Institute for Christian Spirituality, spoke at the A&M Church of Christ Ladies’ Retreat on October 1–3, 2010 in College Station, Texas. The theme for their women’s ministry this year is “Be Still and Know".

Nell Hartlieb, a retreat participant, shared this:

“The exercises Jackie taught us during our retreat helped us focus on our theme. Especially the time we spent alone praying. We had never fully experienced the benefits of solitude before. After that experience, we’ve decided it would be a good idea to do a silent retreat in the future.

The retreat came at a good time for the women of our church. Things are a little unsettling at our church right now. The retreat helped us to recenter. It was especially helpful the way Jackie talked to us about trusting God. It was a healing balm to many of the women and a time of refreshment for all of us.

It’s been 2 years since we’ve had a retreat. This weekend reminded us of the benefits of fellowship. We were encouraged to make sure we have retreats more often.“
