The Study of Conflict Management

The Institute offers two graduate-level academic program choices.

Here is what you need to know:

Admission is based on a combination of many factors, including professional experience, an individual's statement of purpose, past academic study and references.    Look here for a complete list of requirements in the application process, and give yourself at least one month to gather and submit needed documents.

Tuition reflects premium faculty expertise from across the United States.   For the 2013-2014 academic year, tuition for conflict management courses is approximately $3,552 per class.   Payment is due prior to each class or at the start of the term, and tuition may increase as of May each year.

Financial assistance options include student loans through Lipscomb University Office of Financial Aid, corporate partnership matches, graduate assistantships, scholarships, and Lipscomb University Office of Veterans' Affairs (Yellow Ribbon Program).

Courses of study:

  • Master of Arts in Conflict Management (10 COURSES). This is a 30 hour non-thesis or thesis program, requiring students to take the first three courses in succession, followed by a settings-based course, (same as above) and will work with the ICM Academic Director to develop a customized pathway for upper-level study.    The final stage of the Masters program will require students to apply learning in the context of both a project and externship (non-thesis option) or thesis.
  • Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management (5 COURSES). This academic program consists of 15 hours of coursework.  The Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management provides students with a core understanding of the principles of conflict management by requiring students to take the first three courses in succession, followed by a settings-based course, and one upper-level course or internship course.
