Sometimes conflict arises in faith-based organization and is identified before it reaches the crisis point. Recognizing the early signs of conflict and learning how to deal with it are skills with which ICM staff can assist. Changes in leadership can be quite disruptive to churches, and changes in culture and the worldview of members or leadership can create tension in the healthiest of organizations.
Churches facing these circumstances do not need crisis intervention, but they would benefit from education and mentoring that would help them navigate these tricky periods. Conflict can naturally escalate to higher levels in church quickly if not addressed promptly in healthy ways.
