Hazelip School of Theology

Hazelip School of Theology is an accredited member of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). ATS is the preeminent accrediting body for graduate theological education in the United States.

The Doctor of Ministry in Missional and Spiritual Formation is designed to equip followers of Christ who seek to be spiritually formed, live missionally in the world, and are capable of leading and training those in their spiritual care to fully participate in missio dei (God’s mission for creation).

The Master of Divinity has traditionally been considered to provide the best preparation for ministry. It is required for ordination in many religious bodies, as well as for service in fields such as chaplaincy. It is typically a prerequisite for the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree, and in recent years it has also become a requirement for entrance into some Ph.D. programs.

The Master of Theological Studies, while not as comprehensive as the M.Div., still provides a significant foundation in theology. The M.T.S. can be a basis for further graduate programs that do not require the M.Div.

For an emphasis in ministry, the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is a thorough degree. The M.A.C.M. focuses on ministry preparation with a foundation in scripture and interpretation.
