Telecommunication Technician

We have the following opening in Information Technology:

  Telecommunications Technician

Reports to:  Director of Information Security and Infrastructure

Primary Responsibility: This position is responsible for low voltage wiring infrastructure throughout the campus. This includes, design, installation, and maintenance of low voltage cabling including twisted pair, coax, and fiber. This position will also coordinate with our campus construction office to help ensure that construction contractors are on track and meeting campus infrastructure needs.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in related field and BICSI level 2 certification.       

Experience:  Three to five years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 

Job Related Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required. 
  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of low voltage cabling that supports multi-gigabit network infrastructure.
  • Experience with low voltage contract work and familiarity with codes requirements pertaining to low voltage cabling.
