Job Description
The Co-Director Spiritual Formation provides leadership in a variety of administrative areas. These duties include directing, guiding, evaluating, managing, and communicating as related to the following areas:
- Evaluating pre-k through 6th grade Bible teachers including observing, documenting, offering feedback, setting goals, planning professional development activities, and collaborating with the appropriate principal and Associate Headmaster for Academics.
- Develop pre-k through 6th grade Bible curriculum that articulates effectively with the foundational to student spiritual formation.
- Submit current information about pre-k through 6th grade initiatives in spiritual formation to the Headmaster for quarterly Board Reports.
- Represent the administrative team at meetings of the Leadership Council.
- Attend elementary school Open House.
Teaching and student engagement: Direct involvement in activities related to the spiritual formation of students.
- May teach one high school class as needed.
- Engage in boys' ministry/leadership for grades 5 through 12.
Worship: Oversees the development and coordination of worship and devotional activities.
- Provide leadership for boys' chapel for middle and high school.
- Plan and manage small group chapel for high school.
- Plan chapel schedules.
- Supervise chapel coordinators.
- Plan school-wide devotionals (in service, etc.).
Missions Program (Middle and High): Oversee all activities related to mission experiences.
- Assist in planning and coordinating mission experiences.
- Meet with risk management personnel in planning mission experiences.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations for mission experiences.
Pastoral Care/Counseling: Provides pastoral care and spiritual guidance to students and faculty.
- Provide care for middle and high school boys, men faculty, and parents.
- Make visits to the hospital and to funerals.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bible or Ministry required.
- Teaching degree or teaching minor desired.
- Teaching and/or youth ministry desired.
