What AP/Honors courses have you taken in high school or college?
What extracurricular activities and/or community service have you done in the past two years?
What personal abilities and values do you bring to the Honors Program? (limit response to 250-300 words)
What do you hope to gain from being in the Honors Program? (limit response to 250-300 words)
Select ONE of the following two questions and write a short essay (700-750 words). Avoid the temptation to write something which doesn't reflect your own opinion but which you think might impress the people reading the essay. If your favorite song is Crooked Teeth by Death Cab for Cutie then write about that. The same applies for books, poems, and films. We want to know who you are and why you think the way you do.
Essay Question (Select One)
What is the most interesting/significant idea you have encountered this year? Where did you encounter it and why has it become so important for you?
What is the most important lesson you have learned from a service activity you have participated in or from an overseas trip you have taken?

In order for us to consider your application, please send two letters of recommendation in addition to this application and essay. (If you applied for the Trustee Scholarships, you will not need to send any additional letters.) The letters should be in a sealed envelope with a signature across the flap. There is no form for the recommendations, so the persons you choose are free to write whatever they think most appropriate. When you have assembled the materials, please send them by April 1, 2011, to the following address: Dr. Paul Prill Director, Honors Program Lipscomb University One University Park Drive Nashville, TN 37204
