Dr. Candice McQueen is the Dean of the College of Education at Lipscomb University. Since her appointment in 2008, the education graduate school has tripled in size with over 500 students, and seven graduate programs including a new doctorate in education program. Dr. McQueen has led efforts to generate millions of dollars in grant funding for the college, launched off-campus and online programs, and has partnered with the community in a variety of school improvement projects, Hispanic initiatives and innovative professional development partnerships including the Cameron Transformation Partnership with MNPS and LEAD Academy. Before coming to Lipscomb, Dr. McQueen taught in both private and public elementary and middle schools where she was awarded multiple awards for both her teaching and the curriculum design of new magnet schools. Dr. McQueen holds a bachelor's degree from Lipscomb, a M.Ed. in educational administration from Vanderbilt, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas. Dr. McQueen's primary research and teaching interests are reading and writing methods, children’s literature, leadership and education entrepreneurship. Candice and her husband, Andy, have two children: Abigail and Henry. |

Deborah Myers Boyd

Dr. Boyd brings deep educational experience to Lipscomb, having served at the local, system and state level as a teacher, administrator, and program director. Her areas of interest include adult learners, college readiness, curriculum, assessment, educational leadership, technology, and effective instruction. Her research interests include teacher effectiveness, especially with ELL students. Deborah and her husband, Don, have two daughters: Jennifer and Julie. |

Dr. English formerly served as teacher, librarian, and principal in Metro Nashville and Williamson County Public Schools. She joined the Lipscomb University faculty in 2010 after serving as an adjunct in the M.Ed. program for several years. Dr. English and her husband, Rodney, have six grandchildren ranging in age from 3-16.

Nina Jones Morel

Dr. Morel taught middle school and high school students, served as a district level administrator and ELL director. She was the 2005 recipient of the Milken Foundation Educator Award and is the author of a book on instructional coaching. Nina and her husband, David, have five children: Rachel, Logan, Grant, Connor, and Chandler.

Dr. Chatman-Buckley joined the Lipscomb University faculty after many years as an adjunct. She retired from Metro Nashville Public Schools with 32 years of service including 27 years of experience in administration and supervision. When not teaching, Reva and her husband, William Roy Buckley, enjoy reading, writing, and going to the movies.

Dr. Wiemers was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. The Texan native has worked all across the United States and served in several other countries as well. He has taught at the graduate level for fifteen years. He is a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow and completed his assigned research in India (2007-2008). He and his wife, Paula, a personal and family counselor, are the parents of four.
