Lipscomb partners with two consortia to provide even more global learning opportunities.
The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) is a higher education association of more than 150 intentionally Christ-centered institutions around the world. There are 102 member campuses in North America and all are fully-accredited, comprehensive colleges and universities with curricula rooted in the arts and sciences. CCCU's Bestsemester offers 11 programs on five continents. As a member of CCCU, Lipscomb University has sent students to CCCU's Culture-Shaping Programs all across America and the world. Mid-Continent Consortium for International Education (MCCIE) was founded in 1997 and counts as its members eleven institutions of higher education in Tennessee and Kentucky. As a member institution, Lipscomb students can participate in summer language- & culture-immersion study abroad programs. All programs feature three essential components which will enable participants to maximize their learning experience and to learn to communicate with ease in their target language: (1) Rigorous language and culture courses offered by our partner institutions abroad and taught by native speakers on their staff; (2) a homestay in families who are residents of the host countries; and (3) various supplementary cultural activities and excursions. As part of the admission requirements, students sign a pledge that they will communicate in the target language only for the duration of their program.
