Tennessee Hope Scholarship

Tennessee residents who graduate from high school in 2012 are eligible to apply for a Hope Scholarship. The award amount is up to $2000 per semester for a four-year institution (not to exceed the cost of attendance). To receive the award, students must have been a Tennessee resident for at least one year prior to September 1, 2012.

Class of 2011 applicants should have one of the following:

  • minimum ACT score of 21
  • minimum SAT score of 980
  • overall unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.

A FAFSA must be submitted to qualify for this award.

If you did not list Lipscomb University as the first school on your FAFSA for the current award year, you will need to complete the Change of Institution Request form and submit it to the state of Tennessee per instructions on the form.

In order to maintain the HOPE scholarship, you must be continuously enrolled in school.  If you will not be continuously enrolled (excluding the summer term) you will need to complete the HOPE Leave of Absence form and submit it to the Financial Aid Office.

If you lost your HOPE scholarship due to grades or other issues, but have now regained eligibility, you must complete the HOPE Scholarship Regain form and return to the Financial Aid Office in order to be considered for the scholarship in a future semester.  Regaining the HOPE scholarship is not an automatic process and you will need to complete this form in order to have it investigated.

If you have an appeal to bring before the school and the state of Tennessee concerning eligibility for the HOPE scholarship, you will need to complete the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship Appeal form with supporting documentation and return to the Financial Aid Office.

Questions regarding the HOPE Scholarship and its application at Lipscomb University should be directed to Jimmy Morris in the Financial Aid Office.
