Financial Aid Basics
The financial aid office coordinates the awarding of all financial assistance. The primary purposes of the aid program are to provide financial assistance to students who without aid could not attend the university and to reward students who have achieved excellence in their previous academic work or in areas of performance.
Besides offering its own institutional aid to students, Lipscomb participates fully in federal and state aid programs. The aid available includes scholarships, grants, loans and employment.
Financial aid is any loan, part-time employment, grant, or scholarship offered for the express purpose of helping a student pay for educationally related expenses. Such aid is usually provided by federal, state, institutional, or private agencies. If you qualify, you may be offered a combination of these types of aid, depending on your financial need and the funds available. Scholarship awards may also depend upon achievement. Students are not allowed to receive aid that exceeds their estimated cost of attendance.
