Program Faculty

Dr. Susan Galbreath, CPA, is the Associate Provost for Academic Administration and Strategic Initiatives at Lipscomb University and has a faculty appointment as a Professor of Accounting in the College of Business. She is also a member of Lipscomb University’s Senior Administrative Leadership Team. Dr. Galbreath received her undergraduate degree from Tennessee Technological University and her Master of Accountancy and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Galbreath has published articles in Advances in Taxation, The Journal of Accountancy, The CPA Journal, National Public Accountant, Public Management, Tennessee CPA and other professional journals and received the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants 2005 Outstanding Accounting Educator Award. Before pursuing an academic career, Dr. Galbreath worked with an international public accounting firm, now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Dr. Cynthia Rooney currently serves as Curriculum Coordinator for Business at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos. Her Ph.D. is from the University of Tennessee. She has previously taught at UNM-Albuquerque, Xavier University, the College of William and Mary, and Freed Hardeman University. In addition, her work experience includes working at the Nashville office of Ernst and Young, serving as a consultant for small CPA firms, and as a consultant for small businesses. Her research interests are in the area of financial accounting and auditing. She has published numerous articles in refereed journals, prepared an IIA monograph, and made various presentations at national and international accounting meetings.

Dr. Richard L. Townsend, CPA, is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he served as Director of the Master of Accountancy program for over 20 years. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin and has been on the faculty of The University of Tennessee since 1969. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate financial accounting courses. In addition to several teaching awards given by the College of Business, Dr. Townsend has twice received the University of Tennessee Alumni Outstanding Teaching Award as well as the University’s 2001 L. R. Hesler Award for Teaching and Service.

Dr. Jeff Mankin is an assistant professor of accounting in the College of Business at Lipscomb University. He also serves as an officer and principal in Prium Investment Management, LLC, a registered investment advisor. Dr. Mankin is a certified public accountant and has helped to develop content for the CPA exam over many years. He teaches financial and managerial accounting classes both at the undergraduate and graduate level. He has led the Lipscomb spring break mission trip to the City of Children orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico for eight years. Dr. Mankin is a graduate of Lipscomb University, the University of Alabama, and the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Dennis Bline received his BS from Indiana University Southeast in1982 and his MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1983 and 1985, respectively. He is currently Professor of Accounting and Department Chair at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. Dr. Bline has 28 publications including three in Behavioral Research in Accounting and three in Issues in Accounting Education. In addition, he is co-author of an Advanced Accounting textbook published by John Wiley & Sons.

Dr. Perry Moore is Professor of Accounting, Director of the Master of Accountancy program, and Assistant Director of Graduate Business Programs at Lipscomb University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and is Certified in Risk Management Assurance. A Nashville native, Perry graduated from Lipscomb with a degree in accounting and then completed his graduate studies at the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia. Perry chairs the Institute of Internal Auditor's Regional Conference Committee and is a member of the Tennessee Society of CPA's Professional Ethics Committee. 

Charles E. Frasier is Professor and Chair of the Department of Accounting, Lipscomb University and is a Partner with Frasier, Dean & Howard, PLLC. Currently, he is also serving a three-year term as a member of the Auditing Standards Board. Areas of interest include auditing, financial accounting, taxation, and accounting consultation. He served for 3 years with the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. Charles is a practicing CPA, as well as a CMA (certified management accountant), and is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives International (FEI), American Accounting Association, the Tennessee Society of Accounting Educators, Institute of Management Accountants, and the American Institute of CPAs. He is a graduate of Lipscomb University and holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama.
