The Lipscomb University College of Business’ School of Executive Education presents a breakfast with C. William Pollard, former CEO and chairman of the multi-billion dollar company ServiceMaster, which provides commercial and consumer home services such as pest control, lawn care, maid service and security service.
ServiceMaster has been recognized by Fortune magazine as the #1 service company among the Fortune 500 and has been included at the top of its list of most admired outsourcing companies.
Pollard, author of The Soul of the Firm and Serving Two Masters: Reflections on God and Profit, will speak on “Serving God, Seeking Profit: Passing on the Legacy of Faith in the Marketplace,” at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 in the Paul Rogers Board Room in the Ezell Center.
A graduate of Wheaton College and Northwestern University School of Law, Pollard is the author of and contributor to several books on leadership and business ethics. Pollard has been recognized for his leadership in business ethics with the Hesburgh Award for Business Ethics from Notre Dame University and was recognized as an “American business leader of the 20th Century who helped shape the way people live, work and interact” by Harvard Business School.
Pollard will be focusing on the value of mentoring during his visit to campus. In addition to the breakfast, the Hilton and Sallie Dean Institute for Corporate Governance and Integrity will host sessions for Pollard to speak to student and faculty groups as well as an invitation-only dinner for local high-level business executives that evening.
Throughout the day, Pollard will discuss how to effectively integrate faith and work.
Limited seating is available for this event. RSVP by Oct.28. Tickets prices are $50 for individual tickets, $75 for two tickets, and $300 for a table of eight.
