Guatemala Mission Trip
Outreach Project

We built two bridges on our trip to Guatemala. One bridge across a river and built on concrete foundations and a more important bridge that connected two groups of people and was built on the foundation of Christian love. Our outreach into the community involved spending time with the locals around the bridge site. We viewed them as partners in this adventure, helping us in each aspect of the construction. We were privileged to conduct science experiments in the local schools where few teaching resources are available. We were overwhelmed with the community response, from gifts of bread and drinks, to an inauguration ceremony including certificates and a presentation of a painting of the bridge construction by a local artist. But perhaps the most lasting impression is the children whose love they gladly shared with each member of our group.
