Program Description

The College of Education at Lipscomb University and The Ayers Institute for Teacher Learning and Innovation are excited to announce a newly designed program for current and aspiring educational leaders.  The new Educational Leadership program is tailored to prepare high caliber candidates to become successful educational leaders at the school, district, or state level.  Program participants follow innovative strands of leadership competencies on their way to earning an Educational Specialist degree and a Tennessee Instructional Leadership License (ILL-B).

A consistent theme of ethical leadership is woven into all aspects of the Educational Leadership program along with an emphasis in leading student achievement for all students.  Leadership strands include Personal and Ethical Leadership, Visionary Leadership, Learning Focused Leadership, and Organizational Leadership.  Each strand is built upon researched, best practice leadership competencies.  These competencies are learned and practiced through an innovative field experience where participants work directly with a practicing mentor coach throughout the entire program.

**The University offers a generous 20% In-Service scholarship for current educators and alumni. Financial aid is available to all who qualify and other grants may be available.
