DLCS Employment Information
The mission of the David Lipscomb Campus School is to serve its students so that they may master knowledge and skills appropriate to them and become Christlike in attitude and behavior.
David Lipscomb Campus School is the largest independent school in middle Tennessee with more than 1300 students in grades Pre-K through 12. The middle (5-8) and high (9-12) schools are located on the campus of Lipscomb University, and the elementary school (pre-k through 4) is two miles south on Granny White Pike. Since it opened in 1891, the Campus School has been directly connected to the University through a single Board of Trustees. The Campus School and University share many resources, personnel, and programs. This close connection is one of the strongest assets of the school.
Lipscomb’s president, Dr. Randy Lowry, unfurled a visonary plan in May 2011, called DLCS 2016 for academic excellence, new programs and new facilities. To assist in realizing these dreams, in November, Bill and Neika Stephens presented the campus school with a challenge gift of $10M for new campus school facilities over the next ten years.
The vision for the school through 2021 calls for creative, courageous, visionary leadership. The administrative team at DLCS has recently added an Assistant Headmaster for Admissions and Marketing, Associate Headmaster for Athletics and Student Services, and an Assistant Headmaster and Chief Development Officer. This tier of leadership will be completed with the hiring of an Associate Headmaster of Academics this spring.
We are now accepting applications for principal at the elementary and high schools. The principal serves as a member of the headmaster’s administrative team, but with significant responsibility for the development of programs at his/her school. These positions have been posted; the application period will close on March 30. The selection process will begin soon after the application period closes. After paper and phone call screenings, selected candidates will be invited to interview.
Job descriptions are posted for each position. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply on-line; a resume should be sent with the application.
