May I purchase stamps at The Connection?

Yes and much more! The Connection is a Contract Postal Unit, operating under the existing regulation of the US Postal Service. One may purchase stamps, send parcels and FAX from our location. We will be happy to assist you in your mailing needs.

Do you take credit cards, check cards, or Bison Express for purchases?

Yes, the only forms of payment include MasterCard, Visa, cash, and personal check.  Also, the 24-hour self-service Postal Kiosk will accept debit or credit cards.

May I purchase a Money Order with a check?

No, Money Order's may be purchased with cash, MasterCard, and Visa only. The fee is $1.20 up to $500.00 and $1.60 for $500.01- $999.99.

What time does the mail arrive and depart campus?

Mail arrives around 8:15 a.m., Monday through Friday. Mail departs at the same time. Our last mail departure is 2:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.

How will I know if I have received a package if it is too big for my mailbox?

You will receive and email notice alerting you when a parcel or package arrives. Please bring your Lipscomb ID in order to receive the package. Do not bring the printed email message to claim your package.

May I send packages from The Connection?

Yes! We offer all the package services you will need in order to mail your package. We will help you select the best way for sending your items. We can assist you with some packaging needs, if you prefer.

For your convenience in addition to sending parcels through the USPS, one may also send parcels through FedEx and UPS.

What happens to my mail when I am not enrolled in classes and living on campus?

Any time you are not enrolled in classes, for example, during the summer, you should go to myLipscomb and enter a change of address noting a beginning and an ending date. Mail can not be forwarded without a forwarding address on file. Please note for the security of your mail, a change of address can not be taken over the telephone. your mail, a change of address cannot be taken over the telephone. UPS and FedEx package cannot be forwarded, therefore will be returned to sender when you are not enrolled in classes.

Will I have a different mailbox each year?

No, as long as you continually reside on campus, you will keep the same mailbox number. When you move off campus, the mailbox is canceled and mail must be forwarded to your off campus location. Please submit an address change either at The Connection or on myLipscomb.

I am a day student. May I receive mail on campus?

Day students are not allowed to have boxes on campus. All of your stamped mail should be addressed to your current residency address. All stamped mail addressed to the university's address for a day student will be sent to the forwarding address on file. If no forwarding address is on file, the mail is returned to sender. Campus mail addressed to a day student will be returned to the sender.

What if I move back on campus? Will I get my old mailbox number back?

Should you move back on campus, come by the service counter at The Connection. We will check to see if your former mailbox is currently occupied by another person. If the mailbox is unoccupied, we will be glad to re-issue the box to you. If it is currently occupied, we will assign a new mailbox number to you.

What if I have a lot of campus mail I want to send? How may I do this?

If you have 15 or more pieces of campus mail, a mailing permit is required. The mailing permit can be obtained from the Office of Student Life, located at Room 100, Bennett Campus Center. Once this is obtained and before these articles are placed in campus mail, arrange the pieces in numeric order. It is best if the mail is banded together with the mailing permit. The Connection will keep that mailing permit for each mailing. This mail will be distributed to the boxes in a timely manner.

What if I have stamped mail to go out and The Connection is closed? Where may I drop off my mail?

After business hours at The Connection there is a mail slot through which you may place your mail. The mail slots are located to the left of the service window. Once placed in the slot, your mail will leave campus the next business day. Other drop boxes are located in the lobbies of Crisman Administration Center, Ezell Center, McFarland Science Building, Burton Health Sciences Building and in Beaman Library on the upper level next to the copy machine. These boxes are checked each day Monday through Friday.

What if I wish to purchase stamps after hours?

The automated Postal Kiosk is capable of providing postage 24-hours a day, seven days a week.  The kiosk is located in The Connection's lobby.

I need to get a US Passport. Where may I obtain one?

The Connection is only able to provide passport photos for $5.00. Passport applications are processed at the following locations:

Where do I get my Student Payroll check?

Your student payroll check will be available in your campus mailbox on a bi-weekly basis. The checks are distributed to the mailboxes on Friday between noon and 3:00 p.m. If you live off campus, your check will be mailed to your address.

What if I do not receive my check in my box and it is usually there?

Check with your supervisor(s) to be sure your work was approved in KRONOS for the two weeks. If everything seems to be in order, check with the Payroll Office located on the lower level of Elam Hall on southwest corner to see if your mailbox number is on the check.

What is the best way to address mail so it will come to me?

Proper addressing is very important, and if you will use this format, your mail should reach you in a timely manner. No other campus location is needed when addressing you.

When will the mail be in my mailbox?

We try to have all the off-campus mail in the mailboxes by around 10:30 a.m. each day. Depending on the volume of mail we receive, it could be later.

What happens to my mail during breaks such as summer and Christmas when I'm not in school?

During the extended holidays, like Christmas, you may wish to file a change of address for your FIRST CLASS mail ONLY. We will be happy to forward this to you. We will not send newspapers or magazines. If we did send these, you must pay the forwarding charges for these items, plus your subscription might be canceled or changed unnecessarily. Some parcels are able to be forwarded and we will send these on to you at no additional charge.

As for summer breaks when you will not be enrolled in class. You must supply us with a forwarding order for your mail at myLipscomb. Please understand that we do not know where you are while you are away and the US Postal Service does require that we have a Change of Address order on file before we are able to forward mail to you. Help us help to serve you better by supplying a correct address while you are not enrolled in classes.
