Jimmy McCollum is associate professor in the department, where he has taught since 1989 (after attending Lipscomb kindergarten through college). He earned his M.S. at Tennessee and his Ph.D. at Alabama; his dissertation researched pacing in children’s television. He is on the editorial board of LUmination Network and has advised the student newspaper. Since last year, he has served as director of the Tennessee High School Press Association, now making its home at Lipscomb after being based at Vanderbilt and Tennessee. He is copy editor of Kaio magazine, has reported part-time for three trade publications and was a reporter/anchor for WSM Radio News.
