Carroll’s research shows that media coverage plays positive role in influencing pro-social company behavior
10/28/2011 - Lipscomb University Communication Department Chair Craig Carroll is among the nation’s top scholars published in the recently released “The Handbook of Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility.” Carroll’s research will also be featured in a plenary discussion panel with leading international experts at the Communicating Corporate Social Responsibility conference in Amsterdam on Oct. 26-28.

Congress' 'voice of civility' Rep. Jim Cooper speaks at Pizza & Politics Oct. 19
10/14/2011 - Lipscomb University will present U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper at its Pizza & Politics speaker series at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the Shamblin Theatre. This guest lecture is free and open to the public. Cooper's independent record has earned him a reputation as an honest broker between political parties.

White House public engagement official to speak at Pizza & Politics
9/10/2011 - The dialogue surrounding religion and politics was the focus of Lipscomb University’s Pizza & Politics Series featuring White House associate director for public engagement Paul Monteiro Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre. Monteiro discussed his work as a religious liaison for the White House’s Office of Public Engagement.

LUmination debuts TV broadcast this week on campus Channel 97
9/14/2011 - If you noticed a few familiar faces on Campus Channel 97 between the movies, you weren’t dreaming. A team of student journalists debuted the first Lumination Network TV news broadcast Sept. 9. You can still catch ongoing broadcasts at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays on campus Channel 97.

Executive-in-residence announces Healthy Media bill with Geena Davis, legislators
7/15/2011 - Lipscomb University’s Communication and Journalism Executive-in-Residence Deborah Taylor Tate was on Capitol Hill this week introducing a new bill to promote healthy media messages about girls and women. As co-chair of Healthy MEdia, along with Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis, Tate announced the new bill, called the Healthy Media for Youth Act.

Communication chair's book leads to international impact in public relations field
7/11/2011 - In the same summer Craig Carroll came from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to run Lipscomb University's communication and journalism department, he was also marking the publishing of his first book, the culmination of six years of research and international study.
