Specifically, the board advises the department on courses we teach, the content of the courses and the industry standards regarding the subject matter. One of the board members recently hired one of the faculty to experience life in an IT shop for five weeks with the specific goal of keeping the department current in the way things are being done. The board is also involved in attracting great young minds to the program so the level of learners remains high.
