Animation

Study everything from character design to top-end 3D animation. Lipscomb’s animation program is competitive and requires a portfolio review for the BFA program. If a B.A. or BFA is not your goal, we also have a minor in animation.

Film Production

Choose between a B.A. or BFA in film production. The B.A. is flexible for those interested in multiple aspects of film and media production. The BFA is more dynamic and intensive, with a portfolio review during the spring of your sophomore year. Both tracks offer hands-on instruction and an option to join our Los Angeles internship program and travel to the Sundance Film Festival. Experiment with the emerging technology of cinematic VR, and enjoy unparalleled access to industry professionals and opportunities for a sustainable career in the industry.

Film and Creative Media, MFA

With the MFA in Film and Creative Media, you will have the ability to specialize in narrower areas of interest. Whether you want to pursue directing or producing, both intensive tracks emphasize strong writing skills and creative business and production problem-solving skills. Students from both disciplines collaborate on projects, allowing directors to focus on technical and visual elements and producers to creatively contribute to the story and business of film production. You will also have the opportunity to experiment with the emerging technology of cinematic VR.

About the MFA

Film and Creative Media, MA

Lipscomb’s M.A. in Film and Creative Media is an academic exploration into the production methods, film language and research happening in current and emerging fields of film. You may choose this degree as a foundation before earning a Ph.D. In this program, you will be encouraged to participate at the crew level on films produced by MFA students, to increase skills in collaboration and hands-on knowledge of filmmaking and film production.
