Resumes.                                                                                                                             
 

Your resume is your sales brochure. You will use it to tell a potential employer

why her or she should hire you. They are looking for your potential. Your activities

and achievements will show an employer what you can do. A well designed resume

will help you get chosen for an interview.

 Overall recommendations:  

                                 
  •  Do not use a template! Build your resume on Word.

Choose any of the following resume formats from your experience level.

     Level 1 Resume Examples - Create your first resume
    
Level 2 Resume Examples - Updating a resume to apply for an  internship   
     Level 3 Resume Examples - Experienced candidates  improve a resume

•  Resumes should be clearly organized on one page.
•   References are listed on a separate page. You should list at least 3 references.
•   Use Spell Check  and correct any spelling or grammatical errors.
•   Be consistent with punctuation, form of state names, and date formats.
                                
 
 Have your resume reviewed.
 

The CDC can review your resume when it is either in a rough draft

form or a finished product. Simply attach your resume document to an email and

send to careerdevelopment@lipscomb.edu. Be sure to put "Resume for review"

in the email subject line. Someone from the CDC will communicate with you after

your resume has been reviewed.
 

You will want to upload your resume after it has been reviewed into Experience.
