Chapel at Lipscomb University
The Kingdom is Near
After hearing this announcement, some heard a message of life, restoration, and promises fulfilled; others thought of power, justice, and righteous judgment; and still others felt fear, amazement, and hope. The truth is that this message of an approaching Kingdom of God is far too grand to capture with just one word. Our hope for our time together is to scratch the surface of this incredible message, as we hear the words of God and accept the invitation to participate as active members of His Kingdom and His Work.
The Gathering
The Gathering is a time when our entire campus comes together to worship Jesus, commune together, and spend time in the presence of the almighty God. The gathering is not just an hour-long service, but an invitation each week to live for our King. This is the only time where all of the Lipscomb community comes together and we pray that we echo the love of Christ every week.
Breakouts
Every Thursday, our chapel experience takes place all over campus in engaging and worshipful ways. We take great pleasure in providing a variety of opportunities for our students to draw near to the Lord. This time is essential for our students to be intimate with the savior we serve and spur each other on toward love and good deeds
• Women’s chapel (Ezell Chapel)
This breakout is the home for intimate time of worship between the Father and His cherished daughters. It is a place for the women on campus to connect with the heart of God and fellow daughters of the King in a variety of engaging and creative ways.
• Living Water (Alumni Auditorium)
Here, you should expect to learn about and encounter the presence of Jesus while hearing from many of our Bible faculty members. This will be an intimate time of listening and hearing the voice of the living GOD through different people and stories.
• Sing praises (Shamblin)
Sing praises is our largest and most energetic worship experience. In this venue, a team of our talented students lead their peers in passionate worship, liturgical prayer, and engaging scripture and humbly lead our students before the throne of God.
• Rescue chapel (Ward)
In this chapel, expect to hear an in depth look into living in intimacy and radical obedience with God the Father is, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This chapel is not for the lukewarm, but for those who are searching, open, and readying themselves for the move of God on campus.
• Draw near (Swang 108)
Throughout scripture it becomes clear that one of the biggest desires on the heart of God is for us, His beloved creation, to seek and find Him. In this chapel we will seek the presence of the Lord through various avenues and bask in the blessing of having intimacy with our Creator and Father.
• Theater chapel (University theater)
Our newest breakout chapel that offers creative ways of pursuing God’s Kingdom through the avenue of drama. Expect to have many experiences that channel the talents of our students and those interested in theater ministries. This community encourages our students to share their stories through script, choreography, songs and shows.
This chapel outlet is an amazing experience for students who crave accountability, encouragement, and a push toward growing in Jesus. Small groups are led by our best and brightest leaders on campus and are typically made up of five to eight students.

All full-time students are required to get 30 Chapel credits each semester. 25 of those credits come from regular Chapel assemblies and 5 credits can be earned by completing service hours. Students with only MWF classes are required to get only 15 Chapel credits, all of which can come from service hours. Part-time students are not required to attend Chapel.
