Lipscomb’s Master of Science in Biomolecular Science
Advanced biotech jobs are on the rise and make up one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. In fact, Tennessee ranks sixth in the nation in biotechnology jobs. Lipscomb’s Department of Biology is growing its graduate program to include a new master’s degree that will help position you for greater opportunities within your career.
From paternity testing to DNA forensic evidence, from cancer research to infectious diseases, the master’s program in biomolecular science prepares you to work in some of the hottest areas in laboratory science. The skills learned in this master’s program – which has a unique emphasis on laboratory techniques common in the biotech sector – will allow anyone with a biological sciences background to move into a number of growing career fields.
This program is a 30-hour, non-thesis professional master’s degree and can be completed in as little as 12 months. It is offered in eight-week blocks (with five blocks per calendar year) and you may enter the program each year in June, August or January. Classes will be offered during the evenings to accommodate busy working professionals, with lecture courses meeting twice each week (5:30-7:50 p.m.) and labs meeting once each week (5:30-9:20 p.m.).
