SPECIAL MESSAGE from the Student Philanthropy Council:
Imagine if you only received only about 23% of something when you expected 100%.
What would you think of 23% less in
- your Starbucks coffee cup?
- options for meals on campus?
- the amount of paper or number of printers in the computer lab?
- technology on campus?
- financial aid to deserving students?
- resources in your favorite department?
Would you be surprised, confused ... maybe even somewhat aggravated? You would know something was missing.
Well, thank goodness, generous donors step up to provide gifts to help bridge that gap between our paid tuition and fees and the actual cost of our Lipscomb experience. Our tuition only covers about 77% of the cost of our education and maintaining Lipscomb as it is. Without support from donors, it would be difficult to obtain new equipment, make renovations to facilities, increase scholarships, develop innovative programs of study, create exciting degree programs … in other words, it would be hard to provide us the incredible Lipscomb experience.
Please join me and members of the Student Alumni Philanthropy Council as well celebrate our donors during Donor Appreciation Week ... Feb. 26-28, 2013. Check out the schedule listed above and visit the table in Bennett, Swang and Ezell to write a "thank you" note, sign the large banner or even become a Student Benefactor!
Making a gift to become a Student Benefactor is a great way to show future students how much we value our time at Lipscomb. Any amount is welcomed, and you can even designate your gift. You have the ability to choose from different options around campus—student scholarships, specific majors or departments, etc. Think about it this way -- Is there a particular professor who has influenced you the most? You can designate your gift to that professor’s department or college in his/her honor! Make your gift online or at one of the SAPC tables during Donor Appreciation Week.
