Through the Adult Degree Program, the College of Education offers undergraduate programs in Pre K-3 and K-6 education. These programs are fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Tennessee State Board of Education. All courses can be completed in the evening or online. An off-site (day-time) student teaching assignment and practicum serves as a program capstone to prepare students for a career of successful teaching.
A secondary admission is required for all students wishing to major in education. The initial step for all students interested in being admitted to the Teacher Education Program is to enroll in and successfully complete Education 2312, Schooling in America, which includes a required retreat at the beginning of the course.
