July 7-16, 2017
Location: Lipscomb University campus and downtown Nashville
Lipscomb's Summer Scholars is a 10-day residential academic program that emphasizes experiential learning and includes visits to Nashville-area attractions and activities. Summer Scholars is open to all rising seniors (class of 2018) who have scores on the ACT >= 24 or SAT >= 1160 (ERW+M).
Summer Scholars get a head start on their college career by earning three hours of tuition-free college credit and getting a glimpse of college life before heading off to their full college experience as freshmen. Students can select from six different courses, most of which will fulfill college general education requirements. When students are not in academic classes, they will experience a variety of planned activities in and around Nashville designed to entertain and educate. There will also be plenty of free time to do classwork and to get to know fellow Summer Scholars from across the country.
The cost for the Summer Scholars program is a three credit hour course of $3,330 plus a $800 program fee covering lodging, meals and event costs. However, all students accepted into the Lipscomb Summer Scholars program will receive a scholarship to cover the cost of the program's tuition. This scholarship lowers the cost for the Lipscomb Summer Scholars to a program fee of $800 per student. A deposit of $300 will hold your reservation in the program. The remaining $500 will be due by May 15, 2017.
The application process will open January 1, 2017, and the application deadline is May 15, 2017. Space is limited, so the program could fill up before the deadline.
We look forward to welcoming you and your new friends to Lipscomb University and Music City in Summer 2017!
