New Student Express Orientation

August 23, 2015

New Student Express, an abbreviated orientation program designed to meet the needs of new students, primarily transfers age 21 and over, will take place on Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2015. (While New Student Express is required for all new students, returning students and Adult Studies students are not required to attend.) Check-in for New Student Express will begin at noon (CST) in the Bennett Campus Center lobby (see tentative schedule below). The program will begin at 12:15 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre. You’ll eat lunch with other new students and with members of the Quest Orientation Team. During dessert, you’ll hear brief presentations about the essential information you’ll need to maximize your transition to life at Lipscomb. It's college orientation—express style!

You are welcome to bring your spouse or parents to New Student Express. Guests are not charged a registration fee but they must be registered by August 19, 2015. While we cannot guarantee meals for guests after this date, we will accommodate if at all possible.

After the lunch session, if you haven’t registered for fall classes you will meet with an academic advisor and select your class schedule. Representatives from the Business Office and the Financial Aid Office will be available to assist and advise you. You may order textbooks at this time.  Also, the Security Office will be open for you to have your ID made and pick up your parking sticker. You can expect to complete New Student Express by or before 5 p.m. Classes will begin the next day, on Monday, August 24, 2015.

Before students can register for New Student Express they must be accepted for admission to the university and have paid their enrollment fee of $215.00.
