Six College of Business Accounting Majors Receive TSCPA Scholarship

The Scholarship Committee of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants met June 29, 2007 to consider applications from 170 students majoring in accounting in 27 Tennessee colleges and universities. Each application was given serious consideration using the following guidelines determined by the Committee: Academic Achievement – 50%; Previous Recipient – 5%; Financial need – 25%; and Professor Recommendation/Leadership Skills – 20%. Competition for these awards was intense as indicated by recipients’ average accounting GPA of 3.71 and average overall GPA of 3.68.

We are pleased to announce that six Lipscomb University College of Business Accounting students were awarded the scholarship. They are: Jacob Arthur, Kristopher Bybee, Aimee Crick, Ashley Davis, Miranda Kilgore, and Katie Yarborough.
 
Competition for these awards was intense as indicated by recipients’ average accounting GPA of 3.
