Lipscomb Academy has named Stefine ‘Jake’ Pease, former Lipscomb University assistant volleyball coach, as head volleyball coach.
Pease is a former Lipscomb University volleyball standout where she was named two-time honorable mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Along with her All-American honors, Pease also earned 2010 Atlantic Sun Player of the Year honors for her play on the court.
Pease has also coached at several volleyball clubs in the Nashville area. She was a co-head coach for the Nashville One 14U team where she helped lead the team to the 2011 nationals and a fifth-place finish in the event held in Atlanta. As a head coach in 2009, Pease also led the Head Impact 15U team to nationals along with a 2008 nationals appearance with the Impact 14U squad as an assistant coach.
"I am excited to get the opportunity to help grow the Lipscomb Academy volleyball program. It is an honor to help lead these girls to build their volleyball skills as well as life lessons they can take with them throughout life. I can not wait for season to start," said Pease.
Pease will graduate with a Master’s Degree of Education with a math specialty from Lipscomb University in the coming weeks and will also be a math teacher at Lipscomb Academy.
"Jake Pease has been successful in volleyball at every level, including honorable mention as a NCAA Division I All-American player. In addition, she has coached at the collegiate level as well as several travel teams that advanced to the national tournament. As a person, she represents the mission of Lipscomb Academy and we are excited to have her lead our volleyball program," said Mike Roller, Lipscomb Academy Athletic Director.
