Lipscomb Academy has hired Jeramy Ezell as its newest high school softball coach and elementary school physical education teacher, the school announced.
Ezell, a native of Wilson County, has taught physical education and coached at Winfree Bryant Middle School in Lebanon, Tenn., since 2010. In addition to his teaching duties, he has served as Winfree Bryant’s football, baseball and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) huddle coach.
“Coach Ezell offers Lipscomb Academy a wealth of experience both as a player and a coach, and we’re excited to have him join Lipscomb Academy,” said athletic director Mike Roller.
Ezell attended Friendship Christian High School in Lebanon, Tenn., and was a member of the baseball team playing first base and also pitching. Following high school, he earned a scholarship to pitch for Cleveland State Community College.
He transferred to Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky., following his sophomore season to finish his baseball career. He graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education and health.
Ezell and his wife Sarah currently live in Cookeville, Tenn., with their dog Jayce and are in the process of moving to Nashville. In addition to coaching softball, Ezell will teach physical education at Lipscomb Academy Elementary School.
