2012 Summer Mission Teams

Brisbane, Australia

  Since 1999, Lipscomb University has taken a group of students every summer to work with the churches in Brisbane on the east coast of Australia. The Lipscomb team is comprised of students who have a passion for people and building sustainable relationships over a long period of time. City of Children (Summer)

A few hours south of the California/Mexico border you will find in Ensenada, Mexico a place known as the City of Children. It is an orphanage, but not just any orphanage. The City of Children, the parent organization of Baja Missions, was created to save the troubled children of Mexico from poverty and abuse and raise them in a loving Christian environment so that they can come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.....(more)  

 

Germany

  This is the second year of the Germany mission trip. The trip was formed from a group of students who had a love of both Europe and missions. This trip exists to serve the city of Hildesheim and the Gemeinde Christi congregation and the schools there.....(more)

 

Ghana

The Village of Hope in Ghana, West Africa is home to approximately 250 children. The children are brought to the orphanage from off the streets, abusive/dangerous living conditions, and even rescued from child slavery. One of our most important purposes is to love and build long-term relationships with the children, house parents, and staff members of the Village of Hope......(more)  

 

Great Britain/Greece

The purpose of this long running Lipscomb mission effort is to help the youth programs and encourage the Christians in the UK. We stay in the members' homes and fall in love with the families and the children. The objectives and activities will include Vacation Bible Schools, church camps and general aid to the UK congregation.....(more)   Great Britain

 

Guatemala (Engineering)

  This engineering team is part of an ongoing, year-round community development effort in remote villages of northern Guatemala called Project Ulpan.....(more)

 

Haiti

During this trip the group will work with local churches to reach the hearts of people in the community through small group Bible studies for men and women. The team will also get to work with children at the local orphanage.....(more)  

 

Haiti (Track/XC)

  For the third consecutive year, Lipscomb's men's and women's track and cross country teams will serve as the hands and feet of Jesus following the end of their seasons in May. This August the team will travel to Cap Haitien Children's Home to support their work with both the orphaned children who call CHCH home and the local community in Cap Haitien, Haiti......(more)

 

India

  This team will spend time serving at two different orphanages in India: Grace Home and Asha Mission. Many of the children living at Grace Home are orphans from the 2004 tsunami that killed over 230,000 people in 10 countries. Asha Mission Children's Home currently serves as home for 22 children in Delhi, India......(more)

 

India (Ethos)

This first-year trip will consist of a small group of men and women visiting two church plants recently initiated by Ethos Church, one in Basirhat and one in Gabadora, as well as a school in Basirhat. Our goal and desire is to love these two communities, partner with the churches and ministries in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to be a blessing to the churches, and to aid them in serving their communities.....(more)  

 

Let's Start Talking

  Summer 2012 will be the fifth year teams from Lipscomb serve abroad through the LST ministry. You can form your own team with friends on campus or join one that is looking for additional people. LST teams can choose the country they serve in from a list of potential sites in South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Central America. You will serve a huge need in the world by helping people practice conversational English. Teams will also do service projects and host fun events. The time you spend forming friendships will be a powerful and natural way to share your faith.....(more)

 

Moldova

In May, this all female team will travel to Moldova to come alongside and support Grace House, a transitional home for 16 year old girls who have graduated from state-run boarding schools. The ministry, overseen by Justice & Mercy International (JMI), works to combat against human trafficking. Moldova is considered to be one of the most heavily trafficked countries in all of Europe....(more)  

 

Nashville (Urban Plunge)

Perth   This new, all male summer mission effort provides an experience unlike any other: for one week you will be homeless, living on the streets alongside the thousands of others that make up Nashville's homeless community.....(more)

 

Newport (Theater)

Some students travel on mission trips to build homes, construct bridges or work in medical clinics. This group of Lipscomb University students headed overseas for mission work are planning to do less construction and more play. In fact, their mission work is a play. Eight Lipscomb students and their instructor are heading to Wales to hold performances of a children's play in churches and schools in the city of Newport....(more)  

 

 

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland   In late May, Lipscomb students will travel to Dundrum, a small village on the coast of Northern Ireland, to work with children and teenagers through Project Evangelism.....(more)

 

Perth, Australia

The most amazing part of Perth is it's people. The Lipscomb team will be working with the people of the Westchurch Church of Christ developing relationships, performing works of service and ministry, and glorifying the Father. The trip will include facilitating a one-week Winter Youth Camp, organizing community outreach activities, spending time in various schools, aged homes, and working with the prison ministry at a maximum security prison.....(more)   Perth

Saba (Summer)

This is the 9th year Lipscomb University is hosting a team to the Dutch island of Saba, but the first time during the summer! Every year our goal is to strengthen families, teach morality, and encourage works of service among the residents. Through our worship and study together, locals have increasingly shown more and more curiosity and desire for a deeper understanding of the Bible.....(more)
