Common Passport Questions
Q: Who needs a Passport?
A: Anyone who plans on traveling outside of the United States.
Q: When do I need to apply for a Passport?
A: NOW! Routine service is 4-6 weeks. Expedited service is 2-3 weeks. If you have signed up extremely late for your mission trip or have lost your passport, same day service is an option. Please contact Mark Jent in Ezell 235 for more information on same day service, where you will have to apply in person.
Q: What do I need to apply for my Passport?
A: Completely fill out DS-11passport application that can be found on the U.S. State Dept website - http://travel.state.gov, get two official passport photographs (The Connection on campus is $5; Walgreens or FedEx Kinkos is $10; a post office where you apply for a passport is usually $15), your birth certificate or a previously issued US passport are the documents needed. You will need to take all of the above plus have your driver’s license or government issued ID plus forms of payment to the nearest passport approving post office.
Q: How much is a passport?
A: For adult first time applicants, the application fee is $110 for routine service plus an execution fee of $25. For expedited service, the fee is an additional $60. Your application fee and execution fee are paid separate.
Q: How do I pay for my passport?
Your passport fees are your responsibility. You can include the cost of your passport in the overall cost of your trip and get reimbursed for your passport AFTER you have raised over and above that amount on your trip. Please see your team leader or your team's Missions Program point-of-contact in further explanation or clarification.

Visit the US State Dept website at http://travel.state.gov.
Q: What do I need to do if I am less than three weeks away from leaving for my trip and I have not received my passport?
Immediately notify your team leader and have them work through your trip’s primary contact with the Lipscomb Missions program.
