Hurricane Sandy dealt a devastating blow to the East Coast, and the Lipscomb community has been praying, before and after the storm, about how to help. Next weekend, Lipscomb University will be sending a team of volunteers to serve and we ask you to consider joining them. This group of students, faculty, staff and alumni are headed to Long Beach Island, NJ, the home of one of our freshmen students, to do basic hurricane clean-up work; removing damaged drywall, insulation and spraying exposed studs with bleach. It's simple, hard work, but much needed. The trip departs at noon on Friday, November 16th, returning to Nashville on Wednesday night, November 21. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis, and contingent on transportation space. (Drivers needed!) A team meeting will be held on Thursday afternoon (time TBD) to cover final trip details. University Waiver Release forms will be completed and notarized at that time. To officially secure your spot:
FAQ's Where will we be staying? We will be staying at the Tabernacle Church of Christ in Tabernacle, New Jersey. What do I need to pack? After registration, an email will be sent later this week with a complete packing list.
I cannot go on the trip, but would like to financially support it. Are you taking general donations? |
