Mission Trips

Arizona (Navajo)
Summer 2013

AZ top

The past few years, we have been hearing from more and more students who are interested in ministering to the Native American population. Due to this growing desire, a new trip will take place in May that serves and works alongside the Navajo nation in Arizona.

A few hours from the Grand Canyon you will find the town of Kayenta, located within the Navajo nation, the largest Native American reservation in the United States. This first-year team will partner with the Kayenta Church of Christ in sharing Christ and building community among the people in and around Kayenta. The team will be engaged in a variety of activities, from Bible studies, in the local schools and may also facilitate a day camp for children.  During the week in Kayenta, Lipscomb will be partnering with Nashville based non-profit Healing Hands International to empower locals to build a community garden that will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for those living on the reservation.
