Kyle Hutchison Award
In spring 2008, Lipscomb Missions received a gift from an anonymous donor who wanted to help carry on the legacy of a friend who had just recently passed away. This friend was Kyle Hutchison. Kyle was a 1996 graduate of the University and he suddenly passed away in June 2007 at the age of 33. He left behind a tremendous legacy of volunteerism as he took under his wing several boys from Youth Encouragement Services (Y.E.S) and coached them in basketball and in life as they grew into teenagers. The donors' wish was to provide funds every year in memory of Kyle so that their gift could financially assist Lipscomb students with their upcoming mission trip. They view this award as being their way of helping carry on the legacy of a friend who left us way too early to be with his risen Savior. The donors also request that the recipients considered would have similar traits and qualities as their friend Kyle. This is not a needs-based award, rather this is a unique opportunity for a team leader to honor a student who exemplifies these traits possessed by Kyle Hutchison. Here are 6 words that Kyle's friends believe embody the life he lived:

For 2014 summer mission trips the deadline for primary team leaders to nominate a student from their trip is TBD. This way a student who is selected can truly benefit and be rewarded with a financial gift towards their trip before they engage in their fundraising efforts.
